Creator Guide: From Upload to First Sale

Publishing strategies, pricing tips, and earning tactics—all in one guide

From uploading your first file to understanding your earnings dashboard—this guide covers everything creators need to succeed on Xenyyo. First-time publishers and experienced sellers both find value here.

Before You Publish: What to Know

Is Your Tool Ready?

Before uploading, ask yourself these 3 questions:

1. Does it solve a specific problem?

Generic tools are hard to sell. "Calculator" = tough. "Freelance hourly rate calculator for designers" = easier. The more specific, the better.

2. Does it work in a browser?

Xenyyo only supports web tools—anything that runs client-side without needing a dedicated server or database. If it works in CodePen or as a Claude Artifact, you're good.

3. Would someone pay to save time with it?

If your tool saves 30 minutes of work, it's worth $10-20. If it saves 3 hours, it's worth $40-60. Time saved = value created.

If you answered yes to all three, you're ready to publish.

What You'll Need

Your Code:

  • • A single HTML or React (TSX/JSX) file
  • • Must be complete and functional (no TODOs or placeholders)
  • • Multi-file support coming soon!

Your Creation Story (Required):

A short paragraph about how you built this tool. Example: "I created this because I was tired of manually calculating shipping costs. Asked Claude to help, and 30 minutes later, this existed."

This isn't fluff—buyers connect with human stories. It also inspires other creators.

5-10 Minutes:

That's all the time you need to upload, review the AI-generated listing, and publish.

What Happens After Upload

AI Analysis (8-17 seconds):

Xenyyo's AI runs a 4-layer analysis:

  • • Quality check: Is your code complete and functional?
  • • Classification: What does it do? Who needs it?
  • • Pricing suggestion: Based on complexity and category
  • • Listing generation: Title, description, tags—all auto-created

You Review & Adjust:

  • • Edit the AI-generated description if you want
  • • Set your final pricing (minimum $5)
  • • Choose whether to offer Pro Bundle (2.5x price with commercial license)
  • • Add your creation story

Then Publish:

Your tool goes live immediately with instant web access, automated sales, and resource delivery. You earn 77% of every sale.

Getting Started: Your First Publication

Before You Upload

Take 5 minutes to think about your tool:

  • • What problem does it solve?
  • • Who would find it most useful?
  • • What makes it unique or better than alternatives?

These insights will help you refine Xenyyo's auto-generated content later.

The Upload Process

1. Prepare Your File

  • • Get your single HTML or React (TSX/JSX) file ready
  • • If your code is in Claude or ChatGPT, download or copy it to a file
  • • Multi-file support coming soon!

2. Upload and Analysis

  • • Drag and drop your file into the publish interface
  • • Let Xenyyo's AI analyze your code and suggest content
  • • Review the generated title, description, and category

3. Refine the Listing

  • • Edit the title to be clear and descriptive
  • • Add your personal insights to the description
  • • Ensure the category accurately represents your tool

4. Configure Your Bundles

  • • Essential Bundle: Set your price (minimum $5)
  • • Pro Bundle: Automatically calculated at 2.5x Essential price
  • • Choose whether to enable commercial licensing

5. Preview and Publish

  • • Use the preview feature to see your product page
  • • Make final adjustments
  • • Hit publish when you're satisfied

Why This Matters:

This is why buyers pay premium prices and why our 20% commission includes real value: we're not just hosting files, we're creating a complete product experience.

Your job: Build great tools. Our job: Make them look professional and deliver everything buyers need to succeed with them.

Pricing Strategies & Listing Tips

Pricing Your Tool Right

Price reflects the problem you solve, not the time it took to build.

By Tool Type:

Utilities & Simple Tools ($5-12):

QR generators, color pickers, text formatters, basic calculators. Keep it impulse-buy friendly.

Games & Entertainment ($7-15):

Fun has value. Simple games, quizzes, interactive toys. Price for volume.

Creative Tools ($9-19):

Generative art, music sequencers, design utilities. Price based on output quality.

Educational Tools ($8-18):

Teachers have budgets. Students have limited funds. Balance value with accessibility.

Developer Tools ($12-25):

Components, utilities, automation helpers. Developers pay for time savings.

Dashboards & Analytics ($15-29):

Data visualization saves hours. Business value justifies higher prices.

Business Tools ($15-29):

ROI calculators, proposal builders, pricing tools. If it helps businesses, charge accordingly.

AI-Powered Tools (+$7):

Tools with Anthropic/OpenAI integration get a premium—buyers get 50 free API calls included.

The Rule: Single-file tools are quick solutions, not enterprise software. Price for accessibility: $5-15 for simple tools, $15-29 for complex ones. Volume beats margin—a $9 tool gets shared; a $29 tool gets bookmarked and forgotten.

When to Enable Pro Bundle

Pro Bundle costs 2.5x your Essential price and adds commercial licensing, professional documentation, deployment guides, and 8 extra AI prompts.

Enable Pro if:

  • • Your tool has business/commercial use cases
  • • Essential price is $12+ (making Pro $30+)
  • • Buyers might resell, white-label, or use in client work
  • • The tool is complex enough to benefit from pro documentation

Skip Pro if:

  • • Your tool is purely personal use (hobby, learning, entertainment)
  • • Essential price is under $8 (Pro would be awkward at $20)
  • • The tool is too simple to justify premium tier

Reality Check: Even if only 20% of buyers choose Pro, that 20% generates 50% of your revenue because it's 2.5x the price. Most creators enable Pro.

Your Listing: Already Written for You

Xenyyo's AI Handles the Heavy Lifting:

When you upload, our 4-layer AI analysis generates:

  • • A specific, conversion-optimized title
  • • A complete product description highlighting what your tool does and who needs it
  • • Relevant tags for discoverability
  • • The right category placement
  • • Suggested pricing based on complexity

You don't write from scratch. You review and approve.

What the AI Gets Right:

The AI reads your code and understands functionality. It writes titles like "Freelance Rate Calculator for Designers" instead of generic "Calculator Tool." It identifies your target buyer and speaks to them directly in the description.

Most creators publish with minimal edits—the AI-generated copy already sells.

When to Adjust:

  • • You know your target buyer better than AI (add industry-specific language)
  • • You want to emphasize a specific use case the AI didn't highlight
  • • Your tool has a unique backstory worth mentioning in the description

But here's what you MUST write: Your Creation Story.

Creation Story (Required):

This is the one field Xenyyo doesn't auto-fill—and for good reason. This is where you connect with buyers as a human, not as a code generator.

What makes a good creation story:

"I built this because [specific problem you faced]. Asked Claude/ChatGPT to help. [Short time] later, it existed. Now [how it improved your workflow/life]."

Real example:
"Built this because my Etsy shop needed automatic shipping calculations. Asked Claude to help. 30 minutes later, it existed. Now I save 2 hours per week and never undercharge for shipping again."

Why it matters:
Buyers don't just buy code—they buy from people. Your story builds trust, shows authenticity, and inspires other creators. It's the human touch in an AI-assisted world.

Keep it focused: 200-500 characters (about 3-4 sentences). Share the problem, how you solved it, and the benefit. That's all buyers need.

After Publishing: Getting Discovered

You published. Now what?

Share Your Tool:

  • • Post on Reddit (relevant subreddits for your tool's niche)
  • • Tweet about it (tag @xenyyo if you want)
  • • Add to your email signature
  • • Tell people solving that specific problem

Optimize Over Time:

  • • Monitor your dashboard: Are people viewing but not buying? Consider lowering price.
  • • Quick sales with no hesitation? You probably underpriced (raise it for next tool).
  • • No views at all? Your title/description might need work.

Future Tools Build on Past Success:

Your first tool establishes credibility. Your fifth tool benefits from your growing reputation as a creator who delivers quality.

Understanding Your Dashboard

Revenue Metrics Explained

Your dashboard shows real-time earnings across all your tools.

Tools Sold:

Total number of purchases (Essential + Pro combined). Each sale = one count.

Gross Revenue:

Total money generated from all sales before commissions and fees.

Net Earnings:

Your actual income after Xenyyo's 20% commission and payment processing (~3%). This is approximately 77% of gross revenue.

Example: $100 sale = ~$77 to you.

Available Balance:

Money ready for payout. This is your net earnings minus any pending holds (7-day refund window per purchase).

Pending Balance:

Sales within the last 7 days. Money is held temporarily to cover potential refunds. After 7 days, it moves to Available Balance automatically.

Analytics That Matter

Sales Performance:

Track which tools sell best, when sales happen, and what pricing works. Your dashboard shows:

  • • Sales by tool (which tools earn the most)
  • • Sales over time (daily/weekly/monthly trends)
  • • Bundle performance (Essential vs Pro split)

Bundle Analysis:

If 80% of buyers choose Essential and 20% choose Pro, but Pro generates 50% of revenue—that's working. If nobody buys Pro, consider lowering Essential price or increasing Pro value perception.

Data Export:

Export your sales data anytime (CSV or JSON) for your own analysis or tax filing. All transaction details included: dates, amounts, bundle types, tool names.

Using Data to Improve:

  • • Tool with high views but low sales? Test lower pricing.
  • • Tool selling fast with no hesitation? You probably underpriced it (learn for next tool).
  • • Pro bundle not selling? Consider if your tool actually needs commercial licensing.
  • • Consistent daily sales? Scale by creating similar tools for adjacent niches.

Payout Management

How Payouts Work:

Earnings from each sale are automatically transferred to your connected Stripe account via Stripe Connect. Stripe then pays out to your bank, typically within 2 business days.

Payout Setup:

Complete Stripe Connect onboarding in Settings > Payouts to start receiving earnings automatically. Stripe manages the payout schedule to your bank.

Timeline:

  1. Sale happens → 7-day hold begins (refund window)
  2. After 7 days → Moves to Available Balance
  3. When balance hits your threshold → Payout processes next Friday
  4. Money arrives in your account within 7 days

Set Up Early:

The platform will warn you if you have earnings without payout methods configured. Don't wait—set it up after your first tool is published. You can't receive money without a valid payout method on file.

Important: You're responsible for reporting your earnings per your local tax requirements. Xenyyo provides detailed earning reports to make tax filing simple.

Platform Guidelines

Quality Standards

Xenyyo expects working, complete tools. Here's what that means:

Code Quality:

  • • Your tool must function as described—no placeholders, no TODOs
  • • Test it yourself before publishing (if it doesn't work for you, it won't for buyers)
  • • Include basic error handling (graceful failures > cryptic crashes)
  • • Comment your code where helpful (buyers may customize it)

What We Accept:

  • • Simple tools that solve one problem well
  • • Complex tools with multiple features
  • • Artistic/creative tools (ASCII generators, music sequencers, generative art)
  • • Educational tools (quizzes, flashcards, tutorials)
  • • Business tools (calculators, dashboards, utilities)

All tool types are welcome if they work and provide value.

What We Don't Accept:

  • • Incomplete code (functions not implemented, broken features)
  • • Malicious code (viruses, exploits, data theft attempts)
  • • Tools requiring backend servers or databases (Xenyyo is client-side only)
  • • Plagiarized or stolen code (if you didn't create it or have rights, don't publish it)
  • • Tools containing prohibited content (see Content Standards below)

Content Standards

Descriptions Must Be Honest:

Don't promise features your tool doesn't have. Don't claim it does things it can't. Misleading listings result in refunds and removal.

Prohibited Content:

Xenyyo doesn't allow tools that:

  • • Contain sexually explicit or pornographic content
  • • Generate or promote hate speech, discrimination, or harassment
  • • Depict graphic violence, gore, or glorify real-world violence
  • • Violate copyright or intellectual property rights
  • • Facilitate illegal activities (hacking tools, fraud, drug manufacturing)
  • • Involve gambling, betting, or wagering
  • • Promote self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
  • • Use deceptive UI patterns (fake login pages, phishing interfaces)
  • • Perform covert data collection or unauthorized surveillance
  • • Attempt to bypass security or privacy protections

These restrictions are enforced automatically during the AI analysis process. Tools that violate content safety standards will be rejected before publishing.

Your Responsibility:

You're responsible for ensuring you have rights to all code, libraries, and content in your tool. If you used open-source libraries, respect their licenses.

Refund Policy & Your Reputation

7-Day Refund Window:

Buyers can request refunds within 7 days if your tool:

  • • Doesn't work as described
  • • Is missing advertised features
  • • Contains broken or incomplete functionality

How to Avoid Refunds:

  1. Test thoroughly before publishing
  2. Write accurate descriptions (don't oversell)
  3. Ensure code is complete and functional
  4. Include your creation story (builds trust and sets expectations)

Your Track Record Matters:

While Xenyyo doesn't have a public ratings system yet, high refund rates signal quality issues. Tools with excessive refunds may be reviewed and potentially removed.

Conversely, tools with zero refunds and consistent sales build your credibility as a creator. When you publish your fifth tool, buyers already trust you based on your previous four.

Consequences of Violations

Warning System:

Minor issues (accidental typos, small bugs) typically get a warning and request to fix.

Tool Removal:

Tools will be removed for:

  • • Malicious code or security risks
  • • Repeated quality complaints and refunds
  • • Prohibited content violations
  • • Fraudulent descriptions

Account Suspension:

Serious or repeated violations can result in account suspension or termination. This includes loss of access to earnings.

Appeal Process:

If your tool is removed, you'll receive an explanation. You can appeal decisions by contacting support@xenyyo.com with additional context.

Troubleshooting & Getting Help

Common Issues & Solutions

Upload Problems:

"Analysis failed"

  • → Ensure your code file has sufficient content (100+ characters minimum)
  • → Check that file format is correct (.html, .htm, .tsx, or .jsx)
  • → Verify code is complete (no TODOs or placeholder functions)

"Quality gate rejection"

  • → Your tool scored below 7/10 on functionality checks
  • → Review the specific feedback provided
  • → Ask your AI assistant to improve the flagged areas
  • → Creative/artistic tools have lower thresholds (5/10)
  • → Content safety: Tools may also be rejected if they contain prohibited content (see Platform Guidelines above). The content safety threshold is strict and is not relaxed for any tool type.

"Can't complete Creation Story"

  • → This field is required (200-500 characters)
  • → Share how you built this: problem faced, AI used, time taken, benefit gained
  • → Simple example: "Built this to solve [problem]. Used Claude. 30 mins later, done. Now [benefit]."

Publishing Concerns:

"Not sure about pricing"

  • → Trust Xenyyo's AI suggestion as baseline (it analyzes complexity and category)
  • → You can adjust higher or lower based on your target buyer
  • → Remember: You can learn from first sales and adjust pricing on future tools

"Should I enable Pro Bundle?"

  • → Yes, if your tool has business/commercial use cases
  • → Yes, if Essential price is $12+ (making Pro $30+)
  • → Skip if tool is purely personal/hobby use

"My listing looks too simple"

  • → The AI-generated listing is already optimized for conversions
  • → Only adjust if you have specific industry knowledge to add
  • → Your Creation Story is where your personality shines—focus there

Post-Purchase Issues:

"Buyer says tool doesn't work"

  • → Within 7 days, buyers can request refunds for broken tools
  • → Test your tool yourself to verify functionality
  • → If it's a user error, buyers can contact you via their purchase email
  • → If it's legitimately broken, expect a refund and fix before republishing

"I haven't received my payout"

  • → Check that you've completed Stripe Connect onboarding (Settings > Payouts)
  • → Verify your Stripe account is fully verified and active
  • → Check your Stripe dashboard for payout status and schedule
  • → Stripe typically pays out to your bank within 2 business days
